Advertisement for B.Sc. Nursing Against State Quota Seats

Online Application in prescribed format for B.Sc. Nursing against State Quota seats for Academic Session 2024-2025 is hereby invited with effect from 18th to 24th July 2024 till 5:00 P.M. for details visit website www.meghealth.gov.in  

Eligibility Criteria:-

1. Only candidates who are indigenous inhabitants of the State and have passed 10+2 level examination from a recognized University or Board of Authority in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Biotechnology and English and qualifying Common Entrance Examination 2024 are eligible to apply.
2. They should complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December, 2024. The upper age limit for candidates is 25 years as on 31st December 2024. However, this upper age limit shall be relaxed by 5 years for the candidates of Meghalaya belonging to ST/SC.
3. Applicants should be medically fit.
4. Application form without State CEE 2024 (Score Sheet) will not be considered under any circumstances.
5. No application will be accepted or entertained after the last date of submission.
6. Selection of Candidates:
   (i) Candidates who are otherwise medically fit and eligible will be ranked on merit as per their State CEE score in their respective categories.
   (ii) Final selection of eligible candidates shall subject to Reservation Policy of the State of Meghalaya.
   (iii) In case of a tie, State CEE score in the following subjects and order – Biology, Chemistry and Physics – will be considered.
   (a) Candidates with higher marks in Biology will be given the first preference.
   (b) After Biology, the next determining factor in the marks obtained in the Chemistry. Candidates with higher marks in this subject are given preference in the tie- breaking process.
   (c) If the tie still exist, then the candidate having higher marks in Physics will be given preference.
7. The list of candidates eligible for screening/counselling will be displayed in the website above. The candidates will be ranked as per the State CEE score.
8. The date for screening/counselling will be notified later.
9. Final list of applicants: (i) The candidates will be ranked as per the State CEE score but in their respective categories.
   (ii) The names of the candidates selected for nomination under all categories and the waiting list for each category will be displayed in the Notice Board of the Directorate of Health Services (MI), Meghalaya, Shillong/Office of the District Medical & Health Officer, Tura West Garo Hills and in the Government website. It will also be published in the local dailies published from Shillong and Tura. All applicants are required to ascertain the nominations from the above sources. NO INDIVIDUAL INTIMATION WILL BE SERVED ON ANY APPPLICANT SELECTED FOR NOMINATION.
10. Applicants whose names are included in the list selected for the nomination and published as above are required to report to the Deputy Secretary/ Under Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Health & Family Welfare Department, Room No. 506. Additional Secretariat Building within the date and time to be indicated while publishing the list of selected candidates and personally submit their letter of acceptance and to collect their letter of nominations for further instructions, as the case may be. ANY SELECTED APPLICANT, WHO FAILS TO REPORT ACCORDING TO THE FIXED DATE AS SPECIFIED ABOVE, WILL AUTOMATICALLY LOSE HIS OR HER RIGHT TO NOMINATION AND THE NEXT ELIGIBLE CANDIDATE FROM THE WAITING LIST WILL BE NOMINATED.
11. Terms and conditions for admission and all other requirements including recurring fees of the concerned Medical Institution to which the applicant is nominated will have to be abided and paid by the applicant concerned in time and the responsibility on this count shall rest with the candidate / student.
12. The Government does not guarantee job after completion of studies.
13. METHODOLOGY FOR SELECTION OF CANDIDATES:
    (i) Counselling will be done to eligible candidates who are shortlisted and seats will be allocated while adhering to the following rules:
    (a) For the Open Category, the seats will be allotted solely on merit.
    (b) For all other categories, including Khasi & Jaintia, Garo, SC and OST, the seats will be equitably allocated to each category as per category rank. In the first round, all the first rankers in each category will be allocated a seat. In the second round, all the second rankers will be allocated seats and this process will be repeated until all the seats are exhausted.
