The National Health Authority started the Arogya Manthan 3.0 celebrations on 23rd September 2021, with an Inaugural Session. The Hon’ble Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, Shri Mansukh Mandaviya inaugurated the occasion in the presence of the Minister of State for Health, Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar. The Inaugural Session was also attended by the Hon’ble Minister of Health, Government of Meghalaya, Shri James P K Sangma, the Chief Secretary, Shri M. S. Rao, lAS and the officials of the State Nodal Agency. The virtual session saw attendees from various sections which included health officials and executives from the MoHFW, the National Health Authority, State Agencies and from the private sector who are stakeholders of the scheme. Arogya Manthan 3.0 marks the third anniversary of the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana’s journey since its launch by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 23rd September 2018.
During the Inaugural event, awards were presented to the states implementing PMJAY under different categories. The state of Meghalaya was recognised and awarded in 3 out of the 5 categories which included an award to NEIGRIHMS.
Meghalaya is the best performing state in gender equity; this signifies that both women and men in Meghalaya have equal access in utilising the scheme. Meghalaya is also awarded as a Top Performing state for high hospitalisation ratio amongst the smaller states category implementing the scheme. North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) is awarded the best Public Hospital with the most claims utilisation amongst Pubic Hospitals in the smaller states category. These awards were presented virtually by the Hon’ble Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Shri Mansukh Mandaviya.
