Weather Alert
In view of the weather warning from the Indian Meteorological Department, Meteorological Centre, Shillong indicating squally wind (40- 50 Kmph) gusting to 60 Kmph and Heavy Rainfall likely to occur at isolated places on 26th May 2024, squally wind (40-50 Kmph) gusting to 60 Kmph and Heavy to very Heavy with Extremely Heavy Rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places on 27th May 2024, Thunderstorm/Lightning and Heavy to very Heavy with Extremely Heavy Rainfall very likely to occur in isolated places on 28th May 2024, Thunderstorm/ Lightning with Heavy to Very Heavy Rainfall very likely to occur in isolated places on 29th May 2024 over East Jaintia Hills District, the District Incident Response Teams are hereby advised to take measures to respond effectively to any threatening Natural Calamity to safeguard loss of life and property and to always remain alert at all times.
All line departments are to be ready with equipments that are readily available including ropes, tubes, life jackets, wooden planks, JCBs, wood cutters, etc for ready response to any eventuality.
