Alacrity Muksor was conferred a Doctorate in Philosophy by the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati during its 26th Convocation ceremony on 14th July 2024.

Alacrity’s academic journey is marked by exemplary dedication, scholarly excellence, and a commitment to addressing pertinent health and social issues through research. Alacrity Muksor embarked on her academic journey with a Master’s in Public Health, laying a strong foundation for her subsequent achievements. In 2017, she distinguished herself by qualifying for the National Eligibility Test and Junior Research Fellowship in Social Medicine and Community Health, showcasing her early prowess in public health research.

In 2019, Alacrity commenced her doctoral studies in Development Studies at the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. Under the expert guidance of Dr. Daksha Parmar, she undertook a rigorous research endeavor culminating in her thesis titled “Experiences of Women with Diabetes: A Study in West Jaintia Hills District, Meghalaya.” Her thesis explores the unique challenges faced by women living with diabetes in a specific geographic and cultural context, contributing valuable insights to the field of healthcare and social sciences.

On 6th February 2024, Alacrity successfully defended her thesis, showcasing her scholarly acumen and deep understanding of her research topic. Her comprehensive study not only adds to the academic discourse but also holds potential implications for policy-making and healthcare interventions aimed at improving the lives of women with chronic health conditions.Alacrity Muksor, hailing from Ummulong, West Jaintia Hills District, Meghalaya, is the daughter of Smt. Emmonlang Muksor and Shri. Iohbor Dhar.
