In a significant initiative to strengthen heathcare delivery the District Medical and Health Officer, West Jaintia Hills, Jowai in a programme held today at District Library Auditorium, Mynthong, distributed Android tablets to the ASHA worker from Thadlaskein C&RD Block and Laskein C&RD Block.
The programme was attended by Local MLA and Chairman of MUDA Shri. Wailadmiki Shylla as chief guest and Deputy Commissioner Shri B.S. Sohliya, IAS along with Health officials Dr. K Dhar, District Medical & Health Officer, Jowai, Additional DM&HO Dr. P. Shylla, Dr.M.Syngkon District Surveillance Officer, Shri. Rapki Shullai, District Health Manager National Health Mission and Dr. H Niang, BDO of Thadlaskein C& RD Block.
In his address Shri. Wailadmiki Shylla praised the dedication and hardwork of the ASHA workers, emphasising the critical role they play in improving healthcare at grassroot level. He acknowledged their tireless efforts in conducting health surveys, monitoring maternal and child health care and raising awareness about various government health scheme.
He stated that with the introduction of the Anroid tablets, the ASHA workers will now be able to perform their duties more efficiently and deliver service with greater ease and accuracy. He expressed confidence that this step will enhance the overall healthcare system in the region.
The Thadlaskein C&RD Block is served by One Community Health Centre (CHC) and Three Public Health Centre (PHC) supported by 170 ASHA. Laskein C&RD Block has One Community Health Centre (CHC) and Five Public Health Centre, supported by 100 ASHA worker playing a vital role in delivering essential health service to the community.
