West Jaintia Hills District Chief Minister’s Youth Development Scheme (CMYDS) Committee invites applications from the registered organisations for Financial Assistance under Chief Minister’s Youth Development Scheme, 2024-25.

The objectives of the Scheme is to provide creative outlets to the Youth for positively channelling their energies and to strengthen the spirit of good citizenship, service to society and healthy social attitudes and orientation, to strengthen the commitment of youth to nation building, national unity and integration. To develop cooperative attitudes and working relationships between the administration and youth, to develop the aptitudes and skills of youth and to turn them towards productive employment and to increase awareness of youth and motivate them for social economic development.


The Scheme shall extend financial aid to registered entities including societies and cooperatives, voluntary organisations, sports, youth, cultural clubs and associations, not for profit organisations, socio cultural clubs, Alumni Associations, Community level youth institutions, organisations, groups, registered sports associations and entities as well as district level Department of State Government. 


Permissible activities and programmes under the scheme include organisation of district level youth festivals, conduct of cleanliness drives in localities within the district, organisation of youth workshops and seminars, industry specific exposure trips, youth career counselling fairs, sports events and tournaments, the Chief Minister’s Tournament or Cup in various sporting disciplines and indigenous sports competitions. Additionally, the scheme supports the organisation of community regeneration volunteering programmes, financial literacy workshops and seminars, digital literacy workshops and programmes, mental wellbeing seminars, workshops and counselling programmes as well as campaigns aligned with the Sports Authority of India’s Fit India Campaign. Organisation of neighbourhood youth parliaments is also covered under the scheme.


Funds under the scheme shall not be utilized for certain activities including the disbursement of loans, acquisition of land, activities related to religious worship or functions, completion of incomplete schemes started under any other programme, payment of remuneration or salaries and any other programmes that are not in conformity with activities listed.

Scheme Implementation:

Proposals with a project value less than INR 2.00 Lakhs may be sanctioned and implemented by the respective Deputy Commissioners and copy of the same to be shared with the nodal department i.e Department of Sports & Youth Affairs, Government of Meghalaya for information. 

Applicants must include a copy of their valid registration certificate, front page bank passbook showing the IFSC Code and a detailed cost estimate along with their application. The application may be submitted to the Planning branch, Room No130, DC office, Jowai during office hours. The last date for submission of the application is 5th June, 2025.
