On 28 Aug’ 2024, alert troops of 193 Bn under BSF Meghalaya foiled smuggling attempt and seized Eyewear worth rupees 10 lakhs while being smuggled to Bangladesh from the International border of East Khasi Hills district.
The consignment was seized by vigilant troops of BSF Meghalaya when the miscreants were trying to smuggle it into Bangladesh. However, on being challenged by BSF, miscreants fled away from the spot by taking advantage of undulating ground and darkness. The seized items were handed over to customs office Dangar for further action.
