
The Silver Jubilee celebration of DIET Thadlaskein, West Jaintia Hills concluded today bringing the principals, faculty members, teacher trainees together to witness the closing of 25 years and the beginning of a new chapter for the institution. Smt. LBR Marak, Assistant Commissioner, Jowai graced the closing ceremony as the chief guest.
Speaking as Chief Guest Smt. LBR Marak, Assistant Commissioner, remarked that for 25 years the DIET Thadlaskein has been instrumental in preparing and shaping the lives of many students across Jaintia Hills. She said that today’s celebration reminds everyone of the shared journey and the strong impact DIET has had in the education sector.

She acknowledge that this achievement belongs to dedicated faculty who have shared their knowldge, the trainees who joined with dreams and determination and the supporters who strengthen the institution over the years.
She encouraged everyone to continue moving forward with renewed dedication. Smt. Marak also unveiled the ‘Cover of Silver Jubilee Sovenior’
Reflecting on the institution’s 25 years of journey, Dr. B. Danibha Pyrbot, Principal DIET, Thadlaskein, WJHD said in the next 25 years the institute should focus on greater excellence, innovation dedication and service. She highlighted the vital role of teacher training in a rapidly changing world, explaining that the training institute, not only teach content but shapes character and commitment of future educators. She urged the faculty to keep upgrading their knowledge and embrace innovation. She appreciated the non-teaching staff for their unforseen contributuon. Dr. Pyrbot encouraged alumni to stay connected and support link between training and real world practice. She also inspired the teacher trainees to dream big, work hard and uphold the dignity of the teaching profession.

Dr. E.Syiem, Associate Professor, DIET Thadlaskein, presented a detailed overview of the institution’s remarkable journey reflecting on the institutions growth, milestone and achievement since inception in September 2000. She highlighted how the Institute began functioning with a small team of dedicated faculty and staff who laid the initial academic and administrative foundations.
The former principal of DIET, Smt. S. Warjri who was present for the closing of the celebration also shared her reflection. Smt. RS Manners, Rtd.Director of Educational Research and Training, Meghalaya was also present.
The first batch of lectures and staff were felicitated during the ceremony in recognition of their contribution to the institution.
The Silver Jubilee celebration concluded with the lowering of the flag.
