The District Mission Management Unit, NRLM-MSRLS, East Jaintia Hills District today organized a Consultative Workshop with Community Cadres and NRLM Stakeholders at a programme held at Khliehriat West Community Hall, Khliehriat which was attended by Deputy Commissioner, East Jaintia Hills District, Shri Shivansh Awasthi in the presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner, East Jaintia Hills District, Smt. J.U. Kharpuri.
Also present during the programme were Additional Deputy Commissioner &Project Director, DRDA, East JaintiaHils District Shri GautamWarjri, Block Development Officer, Wapung C&RD Block, East Jaintia Hills District, Dr T. Shylla, JRDO- Saipung C&RD Block, Branch Manager MRB, Wapung, Self Help Group (SHG) members, representatives from Cluster Level Federation of SHGs, Village Organisations (VOs), VEC members and Traditional Heads.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner, East Jaintia Hills District, Shri Shivansh Awasthi emphasized on the importance of Aadhaar Card to the SHG members as it facilitates them in completing the profiling in LOKOS in order to avail various benefits. Moreover, through LOKOS, SHG members can easily access their profile and the Mobile APP also helps the government to identity SHGs and provide them with various support systems.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, East Jaintia Hills District, Smt. J.U. Kharpuri in her speech during the programme underscored the importance of Aadhaar for the citizens of the district as it enables them to avail different schemes of the government.
Meanwhile, Additional Deputy Commissioner &Project Director, DRDA, East JaintiaHils District, Shri GautamWarjri in his address during the programme said that it is the duty of stakeholders including government officials and community leaders to encourage people to complete their Aadhaar enrolment as also linkage of Aadhaar to schemes such as the MHIS and others. He also encouraged those who are yet to get be enrolled under Aadhaar to visit their respective Block Offices for enrolment.
During the programme Secretary and President of San Shnong Cluster Level Federation (CLF) also gave a presentation depicting the work carried out by them in educating people on the importance of Aadhaar which was followed by the presentation by Maitshaphrang Sakhain Village Organisation (VO).
Other highlights of the programme include awards given to the best performing cadres in completing the profiling of LOKOS in their respective villages under Wapung and Saipung C&RD Blocks and awards were also given to Village organisations (VO) and Cluster Level Federations (CLFs) where 100% profiling is completed.
During the programme, it was reiterated by speakers that Aadhaar helps in identifying duplicacy in Name and Bank Account which helps the system to identify the correct SHG members. It may be mentioned that East Jaintia Hills District, with a profiling percentage of 85%is ranked number 2 in the state of Meghalaya as far as profiling in LOKOS is concerned. (DPRO, Khliehriat)
