The District Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin (DSBMG) commemorated Swachh Bharat Diwas with special programme held at Ladmukhla Community Hall, Thadlaskein C&RD Block, West Jaintia Hills.
Shri. B. S Sohliys, IAS Deputy Commissioner cum Chairman of DSBMG attended the programme as the chief guest and also inagurated Sanitary Complex (CSC) at the venue.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Shri. B S Sohliya, IAS highlighted the importance of consistent efforts in maintaining cleanliness both at the community and household level engaging actively in keeping the surroundings clean.
He expressed his optimism that the new sanitary complex would encourage more people to practice hygienic habits and utilize a proper sanitation system. He also encouraged the local leaders to ensure the maintenance and sustainability of these facilities for a long term usage.
A pledge ceremony was held where participants confirmed their commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene.
Smt. R Kynjin, EE PHE RWS cum member Secretary DSBMG also spoke on the importance of maintaining cleanliness.
With an aim to promote cleanliness and hygiene across the district the DSBMG had organised a programme on September 30 at Shangpung village in Shangpung Pohchnong Community Hall where Minister of department Food Civil Supply Shri. Comingone Ymbon was the Chief guest and on September 28, 2024 the DSBMG organised a programme at Sabahmuswang village with an aim to raise awareness about the significance of maintaining cleanliness in both households and public spaces. The speakers emphasize the need for community involvement in sanitation efforts, highlighting that everyone has a role to play in fostering clean environment. Safaimetre Samman awards were also given to selected individuals and groups in recognition for their significant contribution to Swachh Bharat Mission.
