With a vision to equip students with necessary skills and knowledgeand in order to inculcate in them the spirit of entrepreneurship over and abovetheir academic pursuits,a DIKSHaBeauty Care Coursesupported by Dalmia Bharat Foundationand an Entrepreneurship Cell under the aegis of PRIME Meghalaya were today inaugurated by MDC, 23-Rymbai- Khliehriat District Council Constituency, Smt. Violet Lyngdoh at Jaintia Eastern College (JEC), Khliehriat.

            Also present during the inaugural function were Assistant Commissioner, East Jaintia Hills District, Smt. F. Wann, Principal  Jaintia Eastern College, Dr.  P. Nongtdu,Technical Head, Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited, Meghalaya, Shri Pramod Kumar, HR Head, Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited, Meghalaya, Shri Vinay Kumar Mishra, officials representing PRIME Meghalaya, teachers and students.

            In her inaugural address, MDC, 23-Rymbai- Khliehriat District Council Constituency, Smt. Violet Lyngdoh lauded the initiative of Jaintia Eastern College in introducing such programmes which will help students explore their interests thus enabling them to further develop their spirit of entrepreneurship.

Further, Smt. Lyngdoh expressed optimism that the platform will not only help students in finding job opportunities but will also enable them to create employment opportunities for other people. She also urged the students to embrace the opportunity with passion and dedication even as she stated that success always begins with small steps.

 Assistant Commissioner, East Jaintia Hills District, Smt. F. Wann in her speech lauded the college authority for its vision and focussed attention on vocational training even as she expressed hope that the vocational training programme will help students hone their entrepreneurship spirit thus enabling them to start their own business ventures  in the future.

Acknowledging the initiative taken by Jaintia Eastern College in introducing the Beauty Care training course,  Smt. Wann also expressed hope that the college would also start other vocational training programmes in future in order to cater to the requirements of students and the community as a whole. Technical Head, Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited, Meghalaya, Shri Pramod Kumar in his speech stated that Dalmia Bharat Foundation has the commitment for the development of society and the local community even as he urged  students not confine themselves within the boundaries of  the district after they have completed their training but to also  explore business avenues across the state and the country.
