Meghalaya KVKs successfully organized the fourth day of the Vikshit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan on 2nd June 2025, covering 63 villages, 13 blocks with the active participation of 7278 farmers. This campaign reaffirms the commitment to strengthening agricultural practices and reaching farmers with scientific knowledge and support. 

Topics covered included improved crop production techniques, animal health and vaccination, organic farming, Integrated pest and disease management, Soil health and soil and water conservation for better crop productivity and income, Growing disease resistant crop with higher yields,  Cultivation of different high yielding variety of fruits and vegetables along with their growing conditions, Farm mechanization, Vegetable cultivation practices, Judicious use of control chemicals and fertilisers, fisheries, poultry farming, duckery, goatery, piggery, Agroforestry, Climate change and climate resilient traditional cultivars, coping with natural calamities and mitigation, mushroom cultivation, Custom hiring centers, Use of latest technology in agriculture like nano fertilisers and drones, Controlled environment agriculture, Spice cultivation, soil and water conservation, vertical farming, integrated farming systems, natural farming, awareness on rabies, diseases of farm animals, composting, Latest technologies for kharif crops  to the farmers and farm women’s, natural farming practices and their importance  for better crop productivity and income, Importance and preservation of natural genetic resources, Soil analysis and their importance, Crop selection based on soil health cards, as Cultivation of high value crops for more prospects which cannot be grown in the plains, Impact of climate change, Usage of Agri- Business Incubation Centre for entrepreneurship , Formation and management of FPOs or FPCs, Agribusiness centre in ICAR ,Marketing of agricultural produce, Cultivation of High Value Crops , Importance of cultivation of Millet, Subsidized rate of machineries, power tillers, etc, Management of fall army worm, cut worm, Plant Protection Measures, Health Management, Disease management in pig, poultry and cattle, Deworming in Pig, Vaccination timing for pigs, poultry, goat & cattle, Availability of Vocational training for livestock rearing, PMEGP scheme available at DCIC, Insurance of piggery, Vaccination in piggery farming, Management of FMD in livestock, Maintenance of hygiene in piggery farming,  Highlight the subsidy rates available for seeds at the Horticulture Office, Drip Irrigation usage and the scheme available, Details about the CM  Assured Scheme  such as criteria , documentation etc., Integrated Farming System, Value addition in horticultural crops, Cultivation of important Kharif crops, Vermicomposting, Nutritional gardening and Nutri thali, Crop diversification, Value addition of Agriculture n Allied enterprises, Grant for ago ecological project(GAP) Under IFAD, Protected cultivation of high value crops,  Orchard management, Strawberry cultivation, Crop Resilient Agriculture, Off season vegetable cultivation, Marketing of broomstick.

Extension literature on integrated farming systems, composting, improved crop varieties, citrus rejuvenation, and Jalkund (rainwater harvesting),Resource conservation technologies, Integrated Nutrient Management for Meghalaya Soils, Modern Agricultural practices for kharif crops including rice cultivation, Use of , Seedling root dipping in SSP-CAU, Bioenhancer amended slurry method for transplanted rice and vegetables, Disease management in Animals, Resource conservation technologies, Integrated Nutrient Management , Good agricultural practices for Meghalaya,Package of practices of buckwheat cultivation, Millets cultivation-Importance, scope and prospects, Organic management practices  of Lakadong turmeric, Silage preparation Rearing of Labeo gonius and Cyprius Caprio in Meghalaya, Application of Agricultural machinery in Custom Hiring Centres, Organic practices and management of pest and diseases were widely distributed.  

Awareness on improved farm technologies such as Integrated Farming System ( Paddy cum fish farming, Pig cum Fish farming) IPM measures of crops ,Organic management practices, Climate resilient agriculture practices, Benefits of Soil testing and Soil Health Card were imparted to the farmers to enhance their understanding of sustainable and efficient farming practices. 

 Farmers were informed about key government schemes like  PM-KISAN, Kisan Credit Cards ,Soil Health Card Scheme, NFSM, , PKVY, PMKVY, KCC, MOVCD, MIDH, EDP, NADCP, SMAM, Insurance schemes for crops and animals ,State Organic Mission and Organic Manure scheme, PRIME, Kisan Sarathi, Fruit Development Scheme, Vegetable Development Scheme, Tuber Crop Development Scheme, Apiculture Mission, and the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, Spices Development Scheme, Mushroom scheme, Beekeeping scheme, Insurance scheme of livestock and Floriculture Mission.

Farmers also received quality seeds of vegetables, rice, and millets in preparation for the Kharif season. Climate-resilient rice seeds and informative leaflets were also distributed, promoting sustainable and adaptive farming practices.

This campaign aims to create a more cohesive approach to agricultural development, ensuring that scientific advancements are effectively translated into practical applications for farmers.
