            An Intergrated Health Camp was launched today in WJH aiming to provide comprehensive health care service during the period of two months throughout the whole District, with a goal to hold 17 static camps along with outreach services covering 150 to 200 villages of the district. 

The campaign is a collaborative effort between the District Medical & Health Officer, Jowai, the office of the West Jaintia Hills Deputy Commissioner, Meghalaya Aids Control Society, Shillong and other line departments. 

During these two months campaign beneficiaries will recieve wide range of service including general health checkup, testing and treatment for tuberculosis (TB), HIV, testing for Hepatitis B and C with relevant treatment, MHIS registration and also house to house visit. 

Shri. A. Lipon,President of Synjuk Ki Waheh Shnong Ri Jaintia graced the event as the Chief Guest accompanied by Waheh Chnong Ladthadlaboh, Shri A. Shullai, and other esteemed dignitaries from the Health Department.

Shri. A. Lipon, express his appreciation for the ongoing campaign, in his address said that health is very important for everyone and highlighted the campaign as a valuable opportunity. He commended that the efforts of the health workers and volunteers and encourage the public to engage actively with the campaign activities and also to take advantage of the health facilities brought to their doorstep by the health department. 

Dr (Mrs) B. Decruse, Project Director, MACS in her keynote address highlighted the significance of the campaign with a focus in rural areas. She also outlined the campaigns objective providing free medical consultation. She specifically noted that HIV remains primary concern during the campaign highlighting the need to increased awareness and preventive measure. 

Smt. R. Passah, District Social Welfare Officer also spoke on the occasion. 

The programme was chaired by Dr. M. Syngkon, District Surveillance Officer, Jowai and Dr. S. Suja, DNi, NVHCP proposed the vote of thanks.
