The Hon’ble Speaker of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, Shri. Thomas A Sangma, inspected and chaired a comprehensive review meeting on Monday regarding the construction of the New Assembly building at Mawdiangdiang. The meeting was held to assess the progress of the under-construction Meghalaya Legislative Assembly building.

Deputy Speaker Shri. Timothy D Shira, Deputy Chief Minister and Minister In-charge of Parliamentary Affairs Shri. Prestone Tynsong, along with Commissioner & Secretary Dr. Andrew Simons, Additional Secretary Shri Malthus Sangma, Shri. Cyril V. Darlong Diengdoh, Parliamentary Affairs Department and officers from the Meghalaya Assembly Secretariat, participated in the meeting at the construction site.

Representatives from various line departments, including the Public Works Department (PWD), Parliamentary Affairs Department, Design Associates, and other Assembly officials, were also present.

Following the inspection, a joint meeting was conducted to discuss the project’s progress and address any challenges. The Hon’ble Speaker expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the meeting, emphasizing the importance of collaboration among all stakeholders to ensure the timely completion of the project.
