The Directorate of Health Services (DME) has officially released the results for the stray/mop-up round counselling for admission to the 1st year BAMS program at the IA Ayurvedic Medical College (IAMC), USTM, Meghalaya, for the academic year 2025-26. The results, accessible on the official Meghalaya Health Department website, detail the selected candidates under both the State Quota (Khasi & Jaintia Category) and the Management Quota.

​State Quota (Khasi & Jaintia Category) Sees Strong Competition

​Under the State Quota, seven candidates have been provisionally selected based on their Ugnat marks. Topping this category is Larisukjai Marbaniang with an impressive score of 308. Chanlangki Rian Passah follows with 268, and Ibapynsuk Lyngkhoi secured the third position with 255 marks. Phidaaiti Suchiang (241), Hamebanjop Hoojon (171), Edielastborn Syiemlieh (170), and Syrpailin Shadapa (162) complete the list of successful candidates in this highly competitive category.

​Management Quota Welcomes Diverse Candidates

​The Management Quota also saw seven candidates selected, demonstrating a diverse range of applicants. Nishita Kashyap leads this category with the highest Ugnat mark across both lists, scoring 380. Pema Deki is second with 368, and Jahrana Shumaisi secured 326 marks. Other successful candidates under the Management Quota include Rumi Begum (186), Rushida Khatun (183), Gebi Potom Tapashree (180), and Bhowmik (121). All candidates under this quota are identified as “Other (Citizen of India).”

​The announcement marks a significant step for aspiring Ayurvedic medical professionals in Meghalaya. The IAMC, USTM, is set to welcome its new cohort for the 2025-26 academic year, contributing to the growth of traditional medicine in the region.
