In an initiative to commemorate International Women’s Day 2024, a capacity-building program was organized by National Law University Meghalaya (NLU Meg) in collaboration with the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology Shillong (NIELIT), Meghalaya State Rural Livelihoods Society (MSRLS), and Iaikyntiew College Shillong. The program was tailored for Women’s Self-Help Group entrepreneurs on the theme of digital literacy to aid their understanding of digital payments, cybersecurity, social media marketing, e-marketplaces, and digital media entrepreneurship models.
Gracing the event as the chief guest was Smt. Delina Khongdup, member of the National Commission for Women, Professor Indrajeet Dube, Vice Chancellor of NLU Megh, Smt. Kerpa Lyngdoh, Registrar of NLU Meg, Smt. Camelia Lyngwa, Director of the Social Welfare Department, Ivyreen Warjri, Assistant Director of the Meghalaya Administrative Institute, Shri Santanu Borgohain, Director of NIELIT, Shri Jonathan Rymbai, State Mission Manager of MSRLS, and Dr. Charis Mine P. Khonglah, Principal of Iaikyntiew Collge, reflecting a unified effort to foster digital empowerment among women entrepreneurs.
This initiative marks a significant step towards building a digitally inclusive society, emphasizing the importance of equipping women entrepreneurs with the necessary tools and knowledge to thrive in a digitally connected world. The event was a resounding success, attracting over 120 participants from various districts across Meghalaya.
