Report from our Lapangap farmers was that on their approach to the farm, they were catapulted and at night as the tin roof replaced the thatch the sound of the volleys of stone turned scary.
It made us to tell the people to seek help from their local Wahiajer MLA also the Minister but he could not and subsewuly lawyer help was sought but the fee charged was not affordable by small group of the farmer.
Long before this, there were Assam Police as well as Meghalaya too but remain the silent spectators
Then came the time to inspect before harvest and that was when Lapangap were catapulted.
We keep in touch with the people and out big Thank You for the Assam Police who came back at right time to enable the Lapangap to reap their sweat and toil on their land of their ancestors from time immemorial.
2025 It was completely different no MLP but Assam Police then fully siding with the Karbis.
We camr to know of one farmer who had his bull taken by the Karbi.
And few days back, the Lapangap not able to bear the action of the Karbis went to harvest in large number when trouble started with one Social Media reporting of one Karbi dead
