
The Meghalaya Teacher Eligibility Test (MTET), 2026 was conducted today at Ka Syiem Jingsuk Higher Secondary School, Amlarem, under Centre Code 31.
The examination was conducted under the supervision of Smt. Ladakahi Shullai, Associate Centre In-charge, along with Shri Stephen Blah, Assistant Professor and Centre In-charge. Dr. Kavery Rabha, MCS, Assistant Commissioner, Amlarem Civil Sub-Division, was also present during the conduct of the examination. Teachers of Ka Syiem Jingsuk Higher Secondary School were assigned as invigilators to ensure the smooth conduct of the examination.
Prior to the commencement of the examination, Smt. Ladakahi Shullai briefed the invigilators on the procedures and guidelines to be followed. The invigilators were instructed to guide the candidates on correctly entering their Roll Numbers and Question Booklet Series and on properly marking their answers on the OMR Answer Sheets.
Candidates were instructed to use only black ballpoint pens for filling in the OMR Answer Sheets. They were also informed that mobile phones, smart watches and other electronic devices were strictly prohibited inside the examination hall.
Candidates were further instructed to hand over their OMR Answer Sheets to the invigilators before leaving the examination hall and were cautioned against carrying the OMR Answer Sheets outside the examination hall, which could lead to disqualification.
They were also required to carry a valid photo identity card such as an EPIC Card, Driving Licence, PAN Card, Aadhaar Card or Passport.
Smt. Ladakahi Shullai also extended her best wishes to all the candidates appearing for the MTET 2026 examination.
For Paper I, a total of 343 candidates were registered, of whom 335 appeared and 8 were absent. For Paper II, 389 candidates were registered, of whom 370 appeared and 19 were absent.
Altogether, 732 candidates were registered for both papers, of whom 705 appeared and 27 were absent. The MTET 2026 examination at the Amlarem centre was conducted smoothly and in accordance with the prescribed examination guidelines.
