
The SPARK Meghalaya Certification Day was successfully held at Nongtalang Government Higher Secondary School, Nongtalang, celebrating the achievements of students who have successfully completed the SPARK Meghalaya programme and highlighting the growing importance of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education in schools.
The programme was graced by the Hon’ble Minister of Education, Government of Meghalaya, Shri Lahkmen Rymbui, as the Chief Guest. Also present were the District School Education Officer (DSEO), West Jaiñtia Hills, the Assistant Commissioner, the CEO of Avenues, school authorities, teachers, students, and other distinguished guests.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Lahkmen Rymbui congratulated the students on their successful completion of the programme and encouraged them to embrace innovation, creativity, and problem-solving as essential skills for the future. He stated that initiatives such as SPARK Meghalaya are helping transform classrooms into spaces where students learn through exploration, experimentation, and practical application.
The Minister emphasised that the Government of Meghalaya remains committed to strengthening quality education by promoting STEM learning, digital literacy, and experiential education in schools across the State. He urged students to remain curious, think critically, and use their knowledge to contribute positively to society.
One of the highlights of the programme was the students’ presentation and demonstration of projects showcasing how STEM education has positively impacted their learning and everyday lives. Through innovative models and practical solutions, the students demonstrated the skills they had acquired under the SPARK Meghalaya initiative, reflecting their creativity, confidence, and understanding of scientific concepts.
The Certification Day marked another significant milestone in Meghalaya’s efforts to foster innovation-driven education and equip young learners with the knowledge and skills required to thrive in a rapidly evolving world.
