
The Block Level Chief Minister’s Youth Engagement Programme (CM-YEP) 2026 for Wapung Block organised by the office of the District Sports Officer, East Jaintia Hills District, in collaboration with the Office of the Block Development Officer, Wapung C&RD Block commenced today at Dkhiah West Community Hall.
The two-day programme was organised under the theme “Young Meghalaya, Shaping Tomorrow,” with enthusiastic participation from students and youth representing various educational institutions within the block.
The programme aims to provide a platform for young people to showcase their talents, develop their skills and participate in activities that promote creativity, teamwork, confidence and leadership.
The opening day featured a variety of cultural and talent-based activities including solo guitar, solo flute, story writing, poetry writing, folk song, folk dance, declamation and talent show. The activities provided opportunities for participants to showcase their talents and skills while fostering a spirit of teamwork, cultural appreciation and healthy competition among the youth.
The programme will continue on September 11, 2026, with several more competitions and activities lined up for the participating students and youth.
It is worth mentioning that the Chief Minister’s Youth Engagement Programme (CM-YEP) aims to encourage young people to actively participate in constructive activities while providing them with a platform to express their talents, ideas and aspirations and contribute meaningfully to the community. Through such initiatives, the programme seeks to nurture confidence, leadership qualities and a sense of responsibility among the youth towards building a vibrant and progressive Meghalaya.
