
The Branch MSME Development & Facilitation Office (BrMSME DFO), Shillong, Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Government of India, organised a PM Vishwakarma Awareness Programme at Thadlaskein C&RD Block, West Jaintia Hills, Meghalaya, on 10 September 2026. The programme focused on branding and marketing of products made by PM Vishwakarma artisans.
Sh. Prabhat Kumar Singh, IEDS, Assistant Director Grade-I, BrMSME DFO, Shillong, made a presentation on the PM Vishwakarma Scheme and its various components. The programme included sessions on branding and marketing, product packaging, use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), financial literacy, digital payments and QR-code generation, social security schemes and Udyam Registration.
The programme followed a multi-departmental convergence approach, with participation from officials and representatives of the Directorate of Commerce & Industries, Government of Meghalaya, State Bank of India, India Post Payments Bank and other stakeholders. Information on relevant Government schemes, financial services and support available to artisans was shared during the sessions.
An Udyam Registration facilitation camp was also organised for artisans. The programme included sharing of artisan success stories to provide participants with practical insights into enterprise development, market access and utilisation of Government support.
The programme was organised with the objective of creating awareness among traditional artisans regarding available institutional support and opportunities for skill development, formalisation, finance, digital adoption, branding and market access under PM Vishwakarma and other relevant Government initiatives.
