Hon’ble Chief Minister of the state, Shri Conrad K. Sangma, today, as a part of the flagship CM-CONNECT initiative interacted with the residents of Bhoirymbong Block at Ri Bhoi District, took up their queries and shared immediate action plan directing the officials to resolve the matters.
Stating that the idea of CM Connect is to bring administration closer to the people, the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Conrad Sangma, in his speech, emphasized the importance of listening to the people firsthand and understanding their problems. He encouraged the public to share their issues and complaints with him, acknowledging that while he may not be able to resolve all problems immediately, addressing even 50% of them would bring satisfaction to both him and the people. He expressed hope that the program would be a memorable one.
It was on 15th February 2024 that the Hon’ble Chief Minister launched the CM CONNECT helpline- 1971, to ensure that people of the state get to express their grievances and concerns directly. Shri Damanbait Lamare, MLA of Umroi said the CM CONNECT is an opportunity for the people to interact with the HCM and urged the people to work together for the development of the state.
A resident of Bhoirymbong Block, Shri Rangshanbor Kharbihkhiew, informed the hon’ble CM that there was no water supply for the last two days for which the hon’ble CM called PHE official. On hearing the official’s clarification, the hon’ble CM said that the matter should be resolved in the next 24 hours.
A lady, Smt. Baiahun Lyngdoh enquired as to why is there a delay to release free textbooks for Lower Primary schools, to this the Hon’ble CM directed the education officials to buy books in advance and ensuring that students get the necessary books.
A farmer, Smt. Jovita Sten, queried on ginger seeds. On Hon’ble CM’s asked the officials to respond. To which, an official from the Horticulture Department said that the same variety is being rotated every year and by next year, the department will identify a suitable variety and distribute accordingly.
Smt. Daplin Rymbai raised a concern about not receiving any potato seeds. In response, the Hon’ble Chief Minister directed officials from the Horticulture Department to take her contact information and ensure she receives the necessary seeds.
A group of local contractors met with the Hon’ble Chief Minister and raised concerns about pending bill releases. In response, it was clarified by the official from Water Resource Department that the funds had already been released and that the processing was currently underway.
There were some queries on Anganwadis and food items under Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS), for which HCM asked the officials from the Food and Civil Supplies Department to respond to the query. The matter will be promptly addressed through the Early Childhood Development Mission.
Thus, the public apprised the Hon’ble Chief Minister on various issues and Shri Conrad K Sangma called the officials concerned and address the matter directly to the public.
Later, the Hon’ble CM also distributed cheques for community funds to Community Based Organisations (CBOs), CLFs, VO, and Self Help Groups (SHGs) under National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM). This followed distribution of Work orders under MGNREGA, handing over the symbolic key to beneficiaries for PRIME Agriculture Response Vehicles (ARVs) under CM ELEVATE Program.
Hon’ble CM also went for an inspection of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) House and Amrit Sarovar at Mawtneng and PM House at Lumsohpieng, followed with an inauguration of the First Referral Unit at Bhoirymbong CHC.
The Block Level Community Interaction Program under CM-Connect was held at Football ground, Lumdaitkhla Bhoirymbong on Thursday which witnessed the presence of Shri Damanbiat Lamare MLA Umroi, Shri Sampath Kumar, IAS, Principal Secretary, Community & Rural Development Department, Shri Abhilash Baranwal, IAS, Deputy Commissioner Ri Bhoi District and State and Block Level Representatives of all the Departments.
