At Tura: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma unfurled the National Flag and took the Rashtriya Salute of 13 Parade contingents at Matchakolgre L. P. School Playground. The parade contingents comprise of Tura DEF, 2nd MLP Battalion, Goeragre, Tura Government College NCC Boys, Tura Government College NCC Girls, Don Bosco College NCC Boys, Don Bosco College NCC Girls, Don Bosco Hr. Sec. School NCC Boys, Don Bosco Hr Sec. School NCC Girls, Pechon Memorial Hr. Secondary School NCC Boys, College of Community Science, Combine Scout Troop and Combine Guide Company, Band Party.
During the function the Chief Guest presented the Life Time Achievement Award to Dr. Milton S Sangma, renowned scholar and former Pro-Vive Chancellor, NEHU Tura Campus, Appreciation Awards to Officers of line departments, John Ferdinand D Shira, Assistant Executive Engineer, PWD Roads, West Garo Hills and Rocky A Sangma, Assistant Executive Engineer, Tura East Distribution, Sub-Division, MePDCL, Tura and Tribal Achievers Awards to Elvachisa Ch Sangma, Filmmaker and one of the Tribal Achievers Awardee 2024, nominated by Director of Arts and Culture, Department Meghalaya.
The Chief Guest also distributed the Appreciation Certificates to Sindaline D Sangma, District Pedagogy Co-ordinator, SSA, Tura, Dhojendro R Marak Peon, Dalu Government Higher Secondary School, Dalu, Grikjang Ch Marak, B Tech Student (Mechanical) Kaziranga University and Arbansing A Sangma, Assistant Lecturer, Tura Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Tura.
Further, on the occasion of 10 years of celebration of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme, under the office of the District Social Welfare Officer, Tura the Chief Guest felicitated the toppers of 2024 SSLC students from the district namely Aime Azora G Momin from St Xaviers School, Tura Ayumi M Momin from Sherwood School Tura, Lilian Christiano B Marak from Christian Girls Higher Secondary School, Tura and Eve Amareen A Sangma.
The Chief Guest also felicitated the Women Police Sub-Inspectors Salmay Marak and Tanya Marak for their exceptional and Gender sensitive police personnel who are recognized as Beti Bachao and Beti Padhao Champion.
Later, the Chief Guest, Conrad K Sangma also flagged off the Bike Riders of NH 51 Rebels on the occasion of the Republic Day celebrations.
The other highlights of the celebration comprise of cultural programmes and tableau presentation. In the Tableau presentation the District Industries and Commerce Centre, Tura bagged the Best Tableau Award.
As part of the programme, Two Day Buyer and Seller Meet- Mini Bazaar was also organized at DC Park, Tura where 35 stalls from entrepreneurs was set up comprising of handicraft, handloom items, woodcrafts, jewelleries, innovations by PRIME entrepreneurs, art works, eateries, beverages, etc. games, painting works and competitions for children including chess competition, Music event by MGMP and local artists.
At Nongstoin: Deputy Chief Minister, Shri Prestone Tynsong unfurled the National Flag and took the salute of the 14 contingents comprising of police personnel and school students at St. Peter’s Higher Secondary School, Nongstoin.
Other highlights of the day include 10 tableau presentation from various government departments showcasing their initiatives and achievements, cultural programmes, prize distribution to various winners by the Chief Guest. Nongstoin Public School emerged as the winner in the singing competition, while Mawiong Lumsyntiew Secondary School bagged the award for the best cultural dance performance. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya was honored as the best March Past School among the school contingents.
At Mawkyrwat: Deputy Chief Minister, Shri Sniawbhalang Dhar unfurled the National Flag and took the Salute of the nine parade contingents comprising of Police, NCC Cadets, and schools at Nativity Higher Secondary School playground, Mawkyrwat.
The other highlights of the day include tableau presentation by eight government departments, cultural programs and prize distribution to the winners of the March Past. Maharam Government Higher Secondary School, Mawkyrwat emerged as the winners of in the March Past, Jingiaseng Kynthei Mawkyrwat Presbytery Higher Secondary School, Mawkyrwat and Little Star Higher Secondary School, Mawkyrwat bagged the 2nd prize and 3rd prize, respectively
In the Tableau Presentation, the District Commerce &Industries Centres (DCIC) received the 1stPrize followed by the Office of the Water Resources in the 2ndPrize and the Office of the Soil and Water Conservation securing the 3rdPrize. Award was given to Rangthong VHC for the Best Village Health Council under Rangthong PHC, and to Smt. Silbina Shangpliang for the Best AHSA (Mawthawpdah PHC) from Laitlawsnai Village.
The Chief Guest also presented the Bravery Award to Shri Kisen Wanniang and Shri Elambok Dkhar
At Nongpoh: Tourism Minister, Shri Paul Lyngdoh unfurled the National Flag and took the Salute of 16 contingent comprising of Ri Bhoi Police DEF, Ri Bhoi Scouts and Guides, schools and a band troop of St. Paul Hr. Secondary School at NSCA Mini Stadium Pahamsyiem, Nongpoh.
The celebration includes presentation of tableaus by different government departments and cultural programmes.
At Jowai: Food Civil Supplies & Consumers Affairs Minister, Shri Comingone Ymbon unfurled the National Flag and took the Rashtriya Salute of 15 marching contingents comprising of District Police Jowai, Government Girls Higher Secondary School, NCC, Meghalaya Bharat Scout and Guides and 12 schools followed by Tableau presentation by line departments showcasing their schemes and achievement.
The best marching contingent was awarded to JNV Mukhla School, Seinraij Higher Secondary School, Jowai and St. Mary Mazzerello Higher Secondary School, Jowai bagged the second and third respectively.
The District Horticulture Officer, Jowai won the first prize in the tableau presentation, while District A. H & Veterinary Officer took the second place and District Commerce & Industries Centre bagged the third prize.
On this occasion the District also presented Mementos to the artist including musician, singers, composers, music video contributors who have contributed to the theme song of the 6thMeghalaya Games.
The other highlights of the day include songs, dances and distribution of gifts and food packages to the Children’s Home by the government officials and social organizations.
At Williamnagar: Power Minister, Shri A T Mondal unfurled the National Flag and took the Rashtriya salute of 17 marching contingents comprises of schools, Scouts & Guides and District Executive Force at Rongrenggre Higher Secondary School playground, Williamnagar.
The highlights of the celebration include cultural programme, tableau presentation of various government departments showcasing various activities and schemes.
At Baghmara: Education Minister, Shri Rakkam A Sangma unfurled the National Flag and took the Rashtriya Salute of 9 parade contingents.
Other highlights include Tableau presentation by various line departments, recognition Award for Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Champions of the District to Smt Dringchi Sangma of Chokpot Women PS WPSI for her contribution in her field. Ms Nivachiasa Sangma from Reserve Gittim and Ms Tarisa Dilrikchi Momin from Mindikgre are other two recipients for Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Champions Award.
Sports personalities of the District were also felicitated, Shri Rikanku D Sangma who won silver medal in National Jr Athletic Championship Bhubaneswar Odisha (under 14) and Shri Kebibat Marak (under 19) boys for representing the State Volleyball team in North East Olympic 2024 at Nagaland.
During the celebration, the District also felicitated the Best Performing Village Health Council to Jalaigre VHC and Dabit Bollong A’ dinggre VHC for their active participation and dedication in bringing improvement in health outcomes in their areas.
At Resubelpara: Soil & Water Conservation Minister, Marcuise N Marak unfurled the National Flag and took the Rashtriya Salute of 16 marching contingens comprising of the Meghalaya Police Battalion, Mendipathar NCC cadets (boys & girls) and various schools of the district at Mini Stadium, Resubelpara. Paschal Secondary School was adjudged the Best Parade.
Other highlights include tableau presentation by various government departments. The best tableau presentation was bagged by PHE (RWS) Resubelpara Division. The District Administration, Resubelpara acknowledged 7 employees from various departments for their commitment in their lines of duty. The best employees who were felicitated by the chief guest were Prejibson Marak (Medical), Jetmit Arengh (Soil & Water Deptt), Inspector Sentforth Marak, SI Suprosat Sangma, Head Constable Walseng Marak (Police), Maclauren Marak and Johnberian Sangma from Resubelpara C&RD Block.
At Ampati: Health & Family Welfare Minister, Dr. M. Ampareen Lyngdoh unfurled the National Flag and took the Salute of the 17 parade contingents by police personnel and students from various schools in the district.
Other highlights include tableau presentation by the line departments and cultural programmes.
Later the Chief Guest also visited the Civil Hospital in Ampati and distributed food items, particularly to pregnant women, as a gesture of care and support.
At Khliehriat: Revenue & Disaster Management Minister, Shri Kyrmen Shylla unfurled the National Flag and took the Rashtriya Salute of the 9 parade contingents comprising of the District Police, Civil Defence & Home Guards and students at Khliehriat Higher Secondary
School Playground, Khliehriat.
During the celebration, prizes were handed over to the winners of the March Past Competition in which JNV Rymbai (Boys) was declared as the winner while JNV Rymbai (Girls) and Ambrose Memorial Secondary School, Khliehriat were adjudged as the first and second runners up respectively.
Prizes were also distributed to the winners of the cultural items competition wherein Dorbar Shnong Tuber Kmai Shnong was announced as the winner, KB Memorial Secondary School, Wapung was adjudged as the first runner up followed by Biate Cultural Troupe in the second runner up position.
Others highlights of the celebrations include prize distribution to the winners of the best tableau presentation in which the tableau of the District Horticulture and Agriculture Office, East Jaintia Hills District was adjudged as the best tableau while the second and third position were handed over to the District Commerce & Industries Centre (DCIC), Khliehriat and Soil &Water Conservation Department respectively. Gifts were also distributed to inmates of Shelter
Homes at Khliehriat and 7Tyndai Child Care Counselling Centre, Tuber Kmaishnong.
At Mairang: Sports & Youth Affairs Minister, Shri Shakliar Warjri unfurled the National Flag and took a Rashtriya Salute of 7 Parade Contingents comprising of the Police, NCC, Scouts and Guides, students at Dommawlum playground, Pyndengumiong, Mairang.
The other highlights of the celebration include tableau presentation by various departments, awards presentation to the Gram Sevak, Technical Assistant, Barefoot Technician for the Best Sector Team for their exceptional contribution for the success of PMAYG in the Mairang C&RD Block. Prizes were also distributed to the winners of March past were St. Hubert Secondary School Maroid won the first place, followed by Kynshi Higher Secondary School in second place and Langtor Higher Secondary School in third place followed by the cultural programmes, dances and songs by students from different schools.
At Sohra Civil Sub-Division: MLA, Shri Sanjay A. Sangma unfurled the National Flag and took the Salute of the marching contingents of Meghalaya Police, NCC, contingents from different schools and Band Party at Maraikaphon playground. Other highlights of the programme include cultural programmes.
At Amlarem Civil Sub-Division: MLA, Shri Gavin Mylliemngap unfurled the National Flag and took the Salute at Amlarem Government Lower Primary School Playground.
At Dadenggre Civil Sub-Division: MLA, Shri Marthon J Sangma unfurled the National Flag and took the Salute of the marching contingents.
At Pynursla Civil Sub-Division: MLA, Dr. Celestine Lyngdoh unfurled the National Flag and took the Salute of the 10 marching contingents at Urksew Umkor Pynursla Sport Club Stadium.
At Chokpot Civil Sub-Division: MLA, Shri Sengchim N Sangma unfurled the National Flag and took the Salute at Chokpot UP School Playground.
At Raksamgre Civil Sub-Division: MLA, Shri Limison D Sangma unfurled the National Flag and took the Salute of the marching contingents.
At Mawshynrut Civil Sub Division: MLA, Shri Gabriel Wahlang unfurled the National Flag and took the Salute of the marching contingents comprising the Police and Christ King Higher Secondary School. Tableau from Fire and Emergency Services was also displayed at the event.
At Ranikor Civil Sub-Division: MLA, Shri Subir Marak unfurled the National Flag and took the Salute of the marching contingents at Nolikata playground. The celebration includes cultural programme, followed by sports and games for children, distribution of sweets to children and prize distribution to the winners of the march past wherein Border Achick Secondary School, clinched the 1st Prize, with Nolikata Higher Secondary School securing the 2nd Prize, and Jingaiti Secondary School, claiming the 3rd Prize.
At Patharkhmah Civil Sub-Division: MLA, Shri Charles Marngar unfurled the National flag and took the Salute of 4 marching contingents at Western Ri Bhoi Sport Association Umsaw, Patharkhmah Playground. The celebration includes presentation of patriotic songs and dances performed by the school children, a friendly football match and prize distribution to the winners of March-past and cultural programmes.
At Rongjeng Civil Sub-Division: MLA, Shri Jim M Sangma unfurled the National Flag and took the Salute at Rongjeng Government UP School playground.
