In observance of Good Governance Week, a distribution program for free assistive devices was successfully held on December 19, 2025, at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Shillong. Organized by ALIMCO in collaboration with the District Administration and the District Social Welfare Office, the event provided essential aids to senior citizens and differently-abled individuals under the Pradhan Mantri Divyasha Kendra (PMDK) scheme, Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana (RVY) scheme, and ADIP schemes. In the presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner Smti. P. K. Sangma, appliances were distributed to beneficiaries to improve their daily living and independence.

4. Elbow Crutches (Large)

5. Walking Stick

6. Sillicon Cushion

7. Sugamaya

The District Administration East Khasi Hills District in order to facilitate E- Services conducted a special camp today at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office. This initiative allowed for the immediate processing of essential documents—such as Scheduled Tribe Certificates, EPIC cards, and Permanent Residential Certificates, resulting in the successful completion of approximately 60 applications.

The District Administration today the 19th December, 2025 conducted a Good Governance workshop focused on Good Governance initiatives. The event featured two distinguished retired IAS officers: a former Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Revenue and Disaster Management Department, who shared valuable insights on the necessity and core principles of Good Governance, and Shri T. Lyngwa, former Deputy Commissioner of South West Khasi Hills District. Shri T. Lyngwa delivered a detailed presentation on Social Audit, outlining its objectives, mandates, and the organizational framework of the Meghalaya State Social Audit and Transparency Agency.
