
The Entrepreneurship Cell (E-Cell) of Jaintia Eastern College,Khliehriat in collaboration with PRIME Meghalaya, MBMA, successfully conducted a 30-Day Training Programme on Assistant Electrician cum Entrepreneurship in Electrical Wiring, which concluded today the 2nd February 2026 with an Industrial Visit-cum-Certificate Distribution Ceremony held at Green Valliey Industries Limited, Nongsning Village.
The industrial visit was conducted under the guidance of M. V. Rao, GM (Process), Green Valley Industries Limited, who provided valuable insights into industrial electrical processes, safety standards, and real-time workplace practices, offering the trainees meaningful exposure beyond the classroom.

The programme was chaired by Banpynskhembha Papang, SPOC, E-Cell, who, in his introductory remarks, highlighted the purpose and objectives of the course, stating that the training was designed to equip students with employable technical skills and an entrepreneurial mindset, fully aligned with the vision of the College.
A major highlight of the training programme was the extensive hands-on practical exposure provided to the trainees. During the course, the trainees carried out complete electrical wiring in three rooms of the newly constructed classrooms within the College campus. In addition, the trainees also visited Lama Village in East Jaintia Hills District, where they successfully installed electrical wiring for the village community hall, thereby combining technical learning with community service.

Delivering a short but impactful address, Dr. P. Nongtdu, Principal, emphasized that the course was conducted in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which strongly advocates skill-based, experiential, and outcome-oriented education. He informed that 50 students registered for the programme, out of which 24 students successfully completed the course after proper evaluation and intensive practical training. He further added that the successful trainees have applied for licenses to become certified electricians, reflecting the effectiveness and practical relevance of the programme.Concluding his speech, the Principal expressed his sincere thanks and deep appreciation to PRIME Meghalaya for extending their support in making the programme a success, and for promoting and empowering the spirit of entrepreneurship among the youth.

The programme was further enriched by the presence of Shri Pawan Joshi, Vice President, Green Valliey Industries Limited, who attended as the Special Guest. In his address, he stressed the importance of skill mastery, encouraging trainees to continuously work on specific skills until perfection is achieved, noting that dedication and consistency are key to professional success.

The programme concluded with the distribution of certificates to the trainees, marking the successful completion of the training. The event highlighted the College’s commitment to strengthening industry–institution collaboration, promoting skill-based education, and fostering entrepreneurship and community engagement among students.
