
With the aim of providing a hands-on learning experience, encouraging critical thinking, fostering creativity, developing communication skills, promoting teamwork and allowing students to apply their innovative ideas to real-world problems, the office of the District School Education Officer (DSEO), East Jaintia Hills District today organized a District Level Science, Mathematics & Environment Exhibition for the students of secondary schools under the theme “Stem for Vikasit and Atmanirbhar Bharat”at a programme held at Jaintia Eastern College (JEC), Khliehriat.
The exhibition was attended by District School Education Officer (DSEO), East Jaintia Hills District, R Diengdoh in the presence of e-District Manager, office of District Informatics Officer, East Jaintia Hills District, Roibok Pohrmen, Assistant Professor, Jaintia Eastern College, Nishwa Rymbai, Special Educator, East Jaintia Hills District, Salanbor Kamar, Technical Assistant, office of District Project Management Unit (MBMA), East Jaintia Hills District, Kevin John Shadap, other officials from District School Education Office (SDSEO), East Jaintia Hills District, teachers, students and others.
In his address, DSEO Diengdoh described the exhibition as a testament to the hard work, curiosity and passion for learning among students. He also stressed the importance of the commitment of educators in nurturing, providing opportunities for young minds to explore and innovate in order to enhance their learning capabilities, adding that education is crucial in shaping the future of a nation.
The exhibition witnessed the enthusiastic participation of students from different schools across the district and featured a spectrum of topics including Wall Construction with Bricksmade with Melted Plastic mixed with Sand, Integrated Solar-Wind Energy System, Green Energy, Automated Quota Based Traffic Management System for trucks, Laser Security System, Medicine Delivery Cart, Rain Water Harvesting and its Purification, Water Conservation and Management, etcwith students illustrating their models through examples to support and clarify their presentation.
After the event, certificates and cash awards were given to the winners and certificates of participation were also distributed to all the other participants. Mementos for participation were also given to the schools who participated in the exhibition.
Suhana Paul of Ambrose Memorial Secondary School, Khliehriat emerged as the winner of the exhibition followed by Peter Arsalann Pyngrope of Khliehriat Higher Secondary School, Khliehriat and Benaiah Gaddiel Sutnga of Little Star Secondary School, Ladrymbai who bagged the second and third prizes respectively
