Student’s Experience in Inter-State Living (SEIL) in collaboration with Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Meghalaya is organising the Seema Darshan Yatra 2026 from 2nd March to 5th March 2026. Under this initiative, 30 selected college students from different institutions of Meghalaya will participate in a Border Visit Programme covering the districts of West Khasi Hills district and East Khasi Hills district.

The Seema Darshan Yatra aims to provide students with first-hand exposure to life in border areas and to develop a deeper understanding of national security, cultural diversity, and the socio-economic conditions of people residing in these regions. The programme seeks to bridge the gap between urban youth and border communities by encouraging meaningful interaction and dialogue. The Aims and Objectives of the Programme are:

 1) National Integration :

To strengthen the spirit of national unity and integration among youth by familiarising them with the strategic and cultural significance of border regions.

 2)Awareness of Border Realities:

To sensitise students about the challenges faced by border residents, including issues related to security, infrastructure, and livelihood.

 3)Interaction with Security Forces:

To facilitate interaction with border guarding forces and local administration in order to understand their role in safeguarding the nation.

 4)Cultural Exchange and Understanding :

To promote appreciation of the rich cultural heritage, traditions, and lifestyle of communities living in the border districts.

5)Leadership and Responsibility:

To instill a sense of social responsibility, patriotism, and leadership qualities among participating students.

 6) Policy Awareness and Civic Engagement:

To help students gain awareness about government initiatives and developmental efforts in border areas.

During the four-day programme, participants will visit key border locations, interact with local communities, engage in discussions with officials and security personnel, and observe ground realities that are often not visible in mainstream narratives.

SEIL and ABVP Meghalaya believe that Seema Darshan Yatra 2026 will be a transformative experience for the students, empowering them with knowledge, empathy, and a stronger commitment towards nation-building.

The organisers expressed confidence that such initiatives will continue to inspire youth participation in constructive and socially responsible activities across the region.
