On the occasion of World Tuberculosis Day to be observed on March 24 under the theme, “Yes ! We Can End TB”led by Bharat powered by Janbhagidari, the office of the District Tuberculosis, West Jaintia Hills under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme has been conducting awareness campaign on tuberculosis to educate the public.
As part of the campaign a street play was organised today at Iawmusiang Market where an engaging and informative act was performed highlighting the cause, symptoms and prevention and treatment of TB.
In addition, a miking campaign was carried out at Iawmusiang today and at Iawpynsin Wahiajer yesterday, broadcasting key message to raise awareness about Tuberculosis.
Dr.Ns C Tariang, Medical Officer, District Tuberculosis Centre, Panaliar, Jowai, urged all citizens to stay informed and seek early medical advice. She also administered a pledge encouraging the public to treat individuals affected by TB with dignity and without discrimination.
