The Department of Community Medicine, Shillong Medical College, observed World Health Day 2026 with a series of activities to promote public health awareness. The programme commenced with a morning marathon, with active participation from students and faculty.
This was followed by a field visit to Lum Sohriew village under Mawphlang block to enhance practical understanding of rural healthcare delivery as well as to create awareness about World Health Day with the theme :Together for Health, Stand with Science. The initiative highlighted the significance of community engagement and preventive healthcare.
The observance concluded with a reaffirmation of commitment towards strengthening public health systems and ensuring a healthier society.
