This is for the information of the general public that the office of the District Medical & Health Officer (DM&HO), East Jaintia Hills District together with the office of the National Programme for Control of Blindness & Visual Impaired, National Health Mission, Shillong in collaboration with the Association of Community Ophthalmologists of India (ACOIN) Drishti Ratha Yatra will be organizing an intense awareness drive and rally which is an Eye Awareness Campaign (a Tableau decorated with Banners & Posters on National Programme for Control of Blindness prepared by Government of India) on 11th May, 2026 at K.B. Memorial Higher Secondary School, Wapung Skur at 10:00 AM.
The rally will commence from Pamra-Paithlu PHC to KB Memorial Higher Secondary School, Wapung Skur, East Jaintia Hills District where an awareness programme will be held.
Subsequently, a ‘Vision Check Up of the School Children’ along with a Symposium of the High School Students (Class IX, X, XI &XII) on “Primary Eye Care” which will be a Two-way Interactive Lectures by Ophthalmologists & School Students will be conducted for a period of 90 minutes with the most active and brilliant student speakers to be felicitated with Medals.
