The Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority, under the patronage and guidance of the Hon’ble Justice Revati Mohite Dere, Chief Justice, High Court of Meghalaya and Patron in Chief, Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority and supervision of Hon’ble Mr. Justice H. S. Thangkhiew, Judge, High Court of Meghalaya and Executive Chairman, Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority and Hon’ble Mr. Justice W. Diengdoh, Judge, High Court of Meghalaya and Chairperson, High Court Legal Services Committee has organised the National Lok Adalat on the 09′ of May, 2026 in the High Court of Meghalaya and all the Districts of the State of Meghalaya under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA).
In the National Lok Adalat, 242 Pre-Litigation cases and 383 pending cases were taken up for settlement. Total number of cases taken up was 625, of which 183 cases were settled for a total amount of Rs. 1,34,86,214/- (Rupees One crore thirty-four lakhs eighty-six thousand two hundred fourteen) only.
