Meghalaya People’s United Front (MPUF) East Jaintia Hills District President Shri Kyrshan Blah said today that he visited the District Medical and Health Office (DMHO) with members of the public that came to apply for birth certificates. He said that when they arrived at around 12:00 PM, the staff and workers at the DMHO had not yet come.
MPUF condemned the government servants for taking the matter lightly and urged them to prioritize the public interest. Shri Blah noted that government employees are paid from public funds and should not keep people waiting. He also said he spoke with the DMHO officer, who instructed staff to arrive on time.
The delay has caused hardship for the public, especially those coming from distant villages. Shri Blah urged the department to address the issue promptly and warned that MPUF would consider further action if the problem is not resolved.
