
A training programme on Co-operative Audit, Accounts and Computerization of Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) was organised at Amlarem. The programme commenced with a welcome address by W Pariat, Sub-Registrar of Co-operative Societies (SRCS), Amlarem, who welcomed the resource persons and participants.
Addressing the gathering, S T Blah, Senior Co-operative Officer, highlighted the importance of proper accounting in the efficient functioning of Co-operative Societies. He stated that maintaining proper financial records ensures transparency, accountability and accuracy in managing the income and expenditure of a Society.
He further emphasized that properly maintained accounts, receipts, vouchers, bank statements and audit reports are essential for Societies to avail benefits under various Government schemes and grants and also explained about the basic accounting concept.
