The Meghalaya State Rural Livelihoods Society (MSRLS) has been conferred the Runner-Up Award in the Small State Category for the State’s overall implementation of the Prime Minister’s Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme, at the two-day PMFME Conclave held in New Delhi on 24th–25th August 2026.
The award was received on behalf of the State by Shri Ronald Kynta, Chief Operating Officer, and Ms Rinky Kyndait, State Mission Manager – Non-Farm Livelihoods, MSRLS, from Shri Chirag Paswan, Hon’ble Union Minister of Food Processing Industries (FPI), and other dignitaries during the Award Ceremony held on the concluding day of the Conclave.
The PMFME Conclave brought together key stakeholders from across the country, including financial institutions, incubation centres, market-access experts, and Self-Help Group (SHG) networks, to deliberate on strengthening credit and subsidy mechanisms, entrepreneurship incubation, market linkages, and One District One Product (ODOP)-led cluster development for micro food processing enterprises. The event was inaugurated by Shri Chirag Paswan, Hon’ble Minister, FPI, with an inaugural address by Shri Devesh Deval, Joint Secretary, FPI, and featured sessions on financial sustainability, entrepreneur incubation, market access, and cluster development, along with experience-sharing and best-practice discussions on Day 2, culminating in the Award Ceremony.
Meghalaya’s recognition as Runner-Up reflects the State’s sustained efforts in mobilising Self-Help Groups, supporting micro food processing units, and ensuring effective on-ground implementation of the PMFME Scheme across the State’s non-farm livelihoods ecosystem.
Congratulating the entire MSRLS team, officials noted that the recognition serves as an encouragement to continue striving for time-bound performance and greater impact in the implementation of the scheme going forward.
