A review meeting on the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) 2.0, Integrated Management Information  System (IMIS) Data Entry and other related matters was held at Windermere, Shillong, on  August 17, 2026. 

The meeting was attended by Shri Marcuise N. Marak, Hon’ble Minister, Public Health  Engineering Department, Government of Meghalaya; Shri Pravin Bakshi, IAS, Commissioner &  Secretary, PHE Department, Government of Meghalaya cum Mission Director, JJM Meghalaya;  and Shri R. S. Nongbri, Chief Engineer, PHE Department, along with Engineers and Sub 

Divisional Officers from across the State. 

The meeting commenced with an address by the Chief Engineer, Shri R. S. Nongbri, who  welcomed the participants and set the tone for the review, underlining the importance of  assessing progress, identifying gaps and collectively finding ways to address challenges in the  implementation of the Mission. He further emphasised the need for greater cooperation at the  grassroots level and encouraged the Department to continue strengthening its service delivery,  with a forward-looking approach that is responsive to the needs of the next generation. 

Addressing the gathering, the Hon’ble Minister, Shri Marcuise N. Marak, highlighted and  appreciated the progress made under the Jal Jeevan Mission in Meghalaya.  

He emphasized that working together would be crucial in taking the Mission closer to its goals.  He also noted that with Meghalaya emerging as one of the country’s fastest-growing economies,  the importance of reliable water supply and the role of the Jal Jeevan Mission become even more  significant. 

The Minister expressed the hope that the discussions and deliberations during the review would  help the Department gain a clearer understanding of the challenges on the ground and provide a  more focused roadmap towards addressing them. 

During the meeting, Shri Pravin Bakshi, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary cum Mission Director,  JJM Meghalaya, took the participants through a detailed presentation covering key aspects of the  Mission. These included the Har Ghar Jal year-wise targets as per the Composite Implementation  Reform Plan (CIRP), the physical and functionality status of 100 per cent physically completed  schemes across divisions, the status of field photo uploads for various schemes, and the overall  physical and functionality status of schemes across the State.

The meeting also reviewed the overall status of JJM implementation and IMIS data entry across  Meghalaya. 

During the review, the Hon’ble Minister, Commissioner & Secretary cum Mission Director and  the Chief Engineer interacted extensively with Engineers and Sub-Divisional Officers from  different districts, seeking updates on ground-level progress, the challenges being faced in  various divisions and the measures required to expedite pending works. 

Particular emphasis was placed on ensuring timely, accurate and up-to-date data entry on the  IMIS portal, so that the progress reflected on the system corresponds with the actual status of  implementation on the ground. 

The discussions also covered other departmental matters relating to the functioning of the Public  Health Engineering Department, with an emphasis on improved coordination, accountability and  timely implementation. 

Concluding the meeting, Shri Pravin Bakshi, IAS, thanked all the participants for their inputs and reiterated the importance of sustained collaboration and stronger coordination across all levels of the Department in order to address existing challenges and carry the Mission forward effectively.
