In loving memory of our Late MP Mr Ricky Syngkon on 2 occasions regarding Lapangap speaking in Parliament “Let Assam withdraw all its police force from Lapangap so that our people could reap their harvest in peace”
2023 the Lapangap friend was called by me to be told to request their MLA cum Minister Mr S Dhar but as expected from previous events at Mukroh where five precious souls lost of bread earners when Assam Police fired at them and the CM Mr Conrad Sangma defended the Assam Police as the unarmed men rushed to the police as if we do not know the rule of engagement of unarmed public man and few days later CM Mr Conrad Sangma went to give compensation of Rs 5 Lakh so if 20 men shot dead Rs 1 Crores man as if bread earners could be bought.
Coming to Mr S Dhar refusing to help, the prominent Supreme Court lawyer in Shillong was contacted but his fees never affordable by the people of Lapangap.
2025 a Karbi man was killed in the skirmish and you know what, CM Mr Conrad Sangma dared to order the people to stop reaping the fruit of their harvest man and at this The West Jaintia SP said that because the place where the killing took place was West Jaintia the Nartiang Police to conduct the case Mr Conrad Sangma and still it quite appeared you were blind and deaf to all these reasons man. Mr Markus M Thaiang the lone fighter for the people of Labang Nongphyllut did go to the JHADC to examine the sales deeds or Pattas and JHADC was kind enough to show all the Pattas were 50 year old but though Kind enough to show, the JHADC did never step in to help the people of Lapangap.
And the fault goes to our Hillstate fighters not ever knowing of Delimitation and MLA had to win over 3000 votes to be Minister and worst is District Councils and people with patriotic spirit though they have money and blanket power won’t enter the fight. Look at Madam B Khongmen MLA post Independent voters totalled 1 lakh 29, 000 votes, Mr Larsing Khyriem of Jaintia voters number 1 lakh 9,000 votes and Rev JJM Nichols Roy also Minister of Assam had voters numbering 97,000 votes all 3 never bribeable you know and those days no Lovers of The Khasi Pnar Bhoi War who would with you before Polling and after joining NPP with swearing at Rajbhavan shake your Confidence.
It was unlucky that our MP Mr Ricky Syngkon had a short life or else Lapangap People won’t have to suffer.
About Mr Ricky Syngkon, he needs be remembered too on Dawki International Fencing in which BSF kind enough to take him on the boat and that time he lamented of huge loss of the paddy and betelnut fields of the people.
