The Barato Police Outpost, on August 28, conducted an awareness programme at St Peter Higher Secondary School at Barato Village with SI. D Pale, Incharge and SI. R Suiam, Second Incharge of Barato OP, West Jaintia Hills, addressing the students on financial fraud, drugs abuse and child marriage. In this awareness around 200 students attended the programme.
Addressing the students on financial fraud Pale, raise awareness about the growing danger of digital scams including the Digital Arrest Scams and Identity Theft. He explained the common methods use by fraudsters and advice the students to follow basic safety precautions to protect themselves from online financial fraud. He also sensitize the students about the harmful effect and serious consequences of drugs abuse, to avoid negative influences and making responsible choices.
Suiam, addressed the students on the issues of child marriage, highlighting the harmfull impacts on the lives, education and future of the children. He also highlighted the legal provisions against child marriage.
