The Deputy Commissioner-cum-Principal Census Officer, East
Jaintia Hills District in a press release issued has informed that the House Listing Operation
(HLO) for Census 2027 will be conducted across the district from 16th May 2026 to 14th
June, 2026.
Also, the Self Enumeration process through the HLO App is open up to 12:00 mid
night on 15th May 2026.
All Traditional Heads are requested to make announcements in advance in their
respective villages pertaining to the House Listing Operation to make all households aware of
the enumeration process in order to facilitate their cooperation with Enumerators/Supervisors
while they are visiting their houses.
All households are advised to prepare in advance all the required information needed
to be provided to the Enumerators during their visit.
Residents are advised to remain in their respective homes during the House Listing
Operation in order to facilitate the completion of the process.
Residents who have completed Self Enumeration through the HLO App are advised to
keep their Self Enumeration (SE) number, which they have received, ready for verification by
the Enumerators.
Tenants who are from another village can select their own respective villages during
the enumeration process and are advised to inform the Enumerators/Supervisors to avoid
duplication in the enumeration process.
People are also advised not to spread rumours or have superstitious beliefs regarding
Census 2027 and are further advised not to hide any information from the Enumerators
because this could affect the government’s development initiatives. Therefore, people are
advised not to be afraid of providing authentic information to the Enumerators during the
enumeration process.
