The Jaintia National Council (JNC) Western Zone, under the leadership of its President, Hamehi Bamon, officially expresses its profound gratitude and appreciation to Madam Jongnon Sankey, the Branch Manager of the State Bank of India (SBI), Mynso Branch, West Jaintia for her exceptional commitment to public service.
This appreciation follows the successful outcome of a memorandum submitted by the JNC on February 2026, which highlighted the urgent need for an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) in the Mynso area. For too long, the local residents and those from surrounding villages have faced significant hardships, often traveling long distances at great personal expense simply to withdraw their own hard-earned money.
The JNC is pleased to announce that within a remarkably short period of less than two months, Madam Jongnon Sankey has demonstrated true administrative responsibility and empathy for the public’s plight. During a meeting held today, the Branch Manager presented the JNC leadership with the official Work Order and the designated installation plan for the new ATM unit. She further assured the Council that physical installation and commissioning are scheduled to begin within the next few weeks.
“We are immensely grateful to Madam Jongnon Sankey for her proactive approach,” stated Shri. Hamehi Bamon. “What often takes years of bureaucratic back-and-forth was addressed by her in just two months. This ATM will bring immense ease to the daily lives of the common people, elderly pensioners, and local students who will no longer have to waste a whole day traveling for basic banking needs.”
The JNC Western Zone views this as a victory for the community and a shining example of how effective communication between civil organizations and institutional leaders can bring about tangible development. The Council remains committed to monitoring the progress of the installation to ensure the facility becomes operational for the public as promised.
