The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Meghalaya aspire the State to be the Digital Hub for Eastern India. To fulfil that aspiration, the Government of Meghalaya has been taking multiple steps to attract investment into IT and ITeS sectors.
Shillong Technology Park is a significant intervention by the State Government. The first phase of the Shillong Tech Park is fully ready and occupied by eight companies. The companies who have occupied the space in Shillong Tech Park – I include: [24×7] ai, Tech Digital, Sirobilt, Magic Works, I Merit, Pursuit Software, HDFC Bank and Shamrock AI that employs around 1200 direct employees.

The second phase of Shillong Technology Park with an area of 1.8Lakh sqft will be ready to be inaugurated in the next few months. Information Technology & Communication Department, Govt. of Meghalaya, is taking multiple steps to attract investment into this Park.

As a significant step towards this and to project Shillong as the Digital Hub of Eastern India and attract investment, the Government of Meghalaya in collaboration with Nasscom is hosting an event “Nasscom Industry Leaders’ Meet 2026, Shillong” on 14th May 2026. This event will take place side by side with BPM Council meeting which is scheduled to take place on 15th May 2016. It may be noted that Nasscom is an industry association, which coordinates the annual meetings of BPM Executive Council. Mr. Rajesh Nambiar, President, Nasscom will also be present in the event.

The Nasscom industry leader meeting on 14th May, 2026 is an event to grab the attention of the Industry Leaders. As per the information received leaders representing companies like Wipro BPS, Alorica, Tech Mahindra, Concentrix, Han Digital, Infosys BPM, Achala Solutions, TaskUs etc. will be present to grace the event. The leaders will also participate in a roundtable chaired by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Meghalaya. Thereafter the Industry Leaders will interact with representatives from the Heads of Educational Institutions of Meghalaya. Towards the later part of the event, they will also visit the Shillong Tech Park in Umsawli, New Shillong.

This will create job opportunities for the state’s youth and help Meghalaya to achieve the 10 billion USD economy target by 2028, with the IT/ITeS sector expected to contribute 1.76 billion USD. The Government of Meghalaya is keeping no stone unturned to achieve it.
