Ri-Bhoi Police have appealed to the public for assistance in identifying an unidentified elderly man who was found dead behind a tyre repair shop at 13th Mile, Tamulikuchi, on the evening of August 6.

According to the Office of the Superintendent of Police, Ri-Bhoi District, information was received at around 6:55 PM that an unidentified male was lying motionless behind the tyre repair shop. During preliminary enquiries, local residents informed the police that the man had been seen loitering in the area for several days and had reportedly been lying at the spot since around 4:00 PM.

Police said no identity documents or mobile phone were recovered from the deceased. Preliminary examination revealed no visible external injuries. He was immediately shifted to Byrnihat Primary Health Centre (PHC), where the attending medical officer declared him brought dead. The body has since been shifted to the Civil Hospital Nongpoh Morgue for identification and further legal procedures.

The deceased is described as a male aged approximately 60–65 years, about 5 feet 5 inches tall, with a thin build, swarthy complexion, short black hair, a moustache and beard. He was wearing a dark blue short-sleeved T-shirt and black shorts at the time he was found.
